Giving

"Life will go well for those who freely lend and are honest in business." [Psa. 112:5]

"One person gives freely, yet gains more; another withholds what is right, only to become poor." [Prov. 11:24]

"A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." [Proverbs 11:25]

"He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again." [Prov. 19:17]

"Despite their desires, the lazy will come to ruin, for their hands refuse to work. All day long he craves and craves, but the righteous gives and does not hold back." [Prov. 21:25,26]

"The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor." [Prov.22:9]

"He who gives to the poor will never want, But he who shuts his eyes will have many curses." [Prov. 28:27]

"She (the virtuous woman) extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy." [Prov. 31:20]

"Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. But when you give to someone in need, (be very covert) don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you." [Matt. 6:1-4]

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." [Luke 6:38]

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." [2 Cor. 9:6-8]

"Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need." [Eph. 4:28]

"If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?" [1 John 3:17]
