Pentecost Birthday
Sometimes as people age they celebrate their birthdays less.
But, today we celebrate a birthday thousands of years old... ‘Pentecost’, the birthday of the church which Christ established (see Acts chap. 2)
On birthdays we give gifts as an expression of our love... At Pentecost, God expressed His love by literally giving of Himself - the most valuable gift in existence - holy spirit.
Over the ages, people may choose to focus on their desires and accomplishments or may divide themselves into many denominations, but in Pentecost we’re reminded that all Christ’s followers share a common birthday... Ephesians 2:7-10:
“...𝘚𝘰 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘶𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘴 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘶𝘴, 𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘏𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘶𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴.
