Labels
‘Labels’ have (2) basic definitions:
1. a small piece of paper, fabric, plastic, or similar material attached to an object and giving information about it.
2. a classifying phrase or name applied to a person or thing, especially one that is inaccurate or restrictive.
When we thought of designing a new label, the goal was to convey what ‘Anothen’ meant in Scripture.
But this made us think about how society uses ‘labels’...
Society trains people to ‘label’ themselves, and others... in ways that are always ultimately restrictive, inaccurate and untrue.
This project reminded us that the information God says about us in Scripture (we are righteous, loved, spiritually whole, etc.) is ALWAYS freeing, accurate and true!
The Point: Lets be careful how we ‘label’ ourselves and others. That leads to a lot of inaccurate, untrue restrictions!
As we believe what God says in Scripture (over our own or society’s opinions), that will help us all to see ourselves according to the FREEDOM and TRUTH established for us:
“and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” [John 8:32]
