FRIENDSHIP

“Friendship” is essential to our lives and is a very important subject in Scripture.

Here are some ‘biblical’ friendship qualities in light of National Friendship Day:

 𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙚 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙇𝙤𝙮𝙖𝙡:
“𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘯 𝘶𝘯𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘶𝘪𝘯, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘴 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘢 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.” [ 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘣𝘴 18:24]

The loose use of the term ‘Friend’ today, often results in a lot of hurt and consequences. But, Scripture teaches that #truefriends are loyal and offer assistance not damage.

𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙚 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩, 𝙃𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙐𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙩 𝙔𝙤𝙪:
⚪️ They won’t speak maliciously of you, nor gossip about your private matters - [Psalm 15:3; Proverbs 16:28; 17:9]

⚪️ They honor you - and won’t allow others dishonor you (in your presence or absence) - [Psalm 101:5; Romans 12:10,11]

⚪️ They uplift you not put you down - [Ecclesiastes. 4:9,10]

𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙚 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧:
⚪️ They give pleasant, useful and valuable advice! - [Proverbs 27:6,9]

⚪️ They help sharpen your reasoning - [Proverbs 27:17]

We’re thankful that God removed the guesswork from what to look for in ourselves and others - so that we could become and make great friends.

Keep showing your appreciation to your true friends!

A true friend is a rare gem!
