Fire and New Life

Fire has great significance in nature and great spiritual significance in Scripture.

God used fire to represent His presence, acceptance, forgiveness and purification.

All four of these meanings are aspects of our spiritual new birth.

“...I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the holy spirit and with fire.” [Lk. 3:16]

“Then they saw what looked like fiery tongues moving in all directions, which separated and hovered on each person as they received the holy spirit].” [Acts 2:3]

God may have used fire to visualize what spiritually happened to each person back then…

But what keeps each of our hearts burning today is deciding to live in this new life!
