Celebrate Christ’s Resurrection

God endorsed Christ by resurrecting him.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Yet in most western Bibles, Jesus is recorded saying God ‘forsook him' after achieving what God sent him to accomplish:⁣⁣
⁣⁣
“𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘩 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘬𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘥 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦, 𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘌𝘭𝘪, 𝘌𝘭𝘪, 𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘴𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘪? 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘺, 𝘔𝘺 𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘮𝘺 𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘦?” [Matt 27:46]⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The Eastern Peshitta /Aramaic Bible (closest to the dialect Christ spoke), addressed this apparent contradiction. In Aramaic, there’s no word ‘𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢’, but ‘𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢’ = 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦. The Aramaic word for ‘𝘴𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘪’ is ‘𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘬𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘪’ = 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘥, 𝘥𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳. The translation:⁣⁣
⁣⁣
“𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘩 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳, 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘥 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥, 𝘌𝘭𝘪, 𝘌𝘭𝘪, 𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘬𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘪! 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴, 𝘔𝘺 𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘮𝘺 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘐 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝.” [Matthew 27:46 / Mark 15:34]⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Christ achieved Gods purpose and shouted his triumph over those who said God abandoned him.
⁣⁣
Why we can celebrate Christ’s Resurrection:⁣⁣
“𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘶𝘴, 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘮 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘵 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴--𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘶𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘏𝘪𝘮 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘥. 𝘏𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦, 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩, 𝘸𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵!” [Romans 4:24,25]⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We have peace with God by Christ’s success – not ours! God credited righteousness to our account!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Apparent contradictions are due to translation, topic misunderstanding or a combination of these. No wonder God says to learn the Scriptures [2 Timothy 2:15]. We stand in awe of them!⁣
