Agápē

There are several kinds of human emotional love (3) are:

𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗼 - kindness, the highest form of human love, essence of beneficial human virtues.

𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 = familial love.

𝗘𝗿𝗼𝘀 = romantic love.

Despite being very different words/kinds of love, Western Bibles translate them all into English as one word… “love”… (easy to understand why ‘love’ is a confused topic in our culture!)

Contrary to what western culture thinks, not all desires qualify as ‘love’ and the various kinds of love that exist are not the same.

Despite similarity to other kinds of human love, agápē does not have human origin and is the only love that is completely selfless.

Agápē is Gods perfect love, love in its highest conceivable form and it is NOT an emotion in Scripture.

#Scripture tells us that agápē is the ONLY antidote to ALL human fear:

“Such love (agápē) has no fear, because perfect love (agápē) expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced His #perfectlove (agápē).” [1 Jhn 4:18]

Albert Einstein once said “We can not solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them…”

The human emotion of fear has long been humanity’s greatest fundamental problem since we introduced it. It took something greater than human emotion to solve the human problem of ‘fear’:

“I sought the #LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from ALL my fears. Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.[Psa. 34:4,5]

We’re thankful for God providing His love to solve our greatest problem! Now, its on us to learn from Scripture how to live in that love.
